Dangerous Baby Monitors Recalled After Two Infant Deaths

Injures, and fatalities, often occur when a product is defective or fails to contain sufficient warnings.  Tragically dangerous products that cause injury are often children's toys and products.  Children due to their youth do not recognize that serious injury may result from cords, small objects, batteries, or a number of other objects that are often components of children's toys and products.  Baby monitors pose a risk to infants when the cords are placed in close proximity to the crib.

Approximately 600,000 Anglecare Movement and Sound baby monitors are being voluntarily recalled after two infants died by being strangled when the cord attached to the monitor was pulled into the crib.  The monitors involved in the recall were sold in the U.S. from October 1999 through September 2013.  The recall covers all models of the Anglecare Movement and Sound monitors.  The monitors recalled will be fitted with a cord cover.

Consumers that own this product should immediately make sure that all cords are not within the reach of infants.  A free repair kit can be ordered through the company's website or by calling 855-355-2643.  Further details of the recall can be found in the press release issued by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
